Sidebar menu should be collapsed by default for new users#242

When I’m viewing a wiki for the first time
I want to open folders as I need them, not have them all open by default and have to close them all.
So I can read through the wiki easily.

Any plans to look into this? :) Sorry, not to bug you, it would just make the experience much better for my coworkers

This “issue” is two years old, it would be more helpful if the menus on the right weren’t auto expanded by default.

I’ve pushed this up, it can be enabled in settings > interface > collapsed sidebar menu.

After enabling this setting, all menus are closed by default, if a user clicks to open one, it will remain open after refreshing the website. This is stored per device.

Closing this ticket as it achieves the original goal of this ticket.

Sorry this took so long to get to!

Additional note:

As part of the rewrite I will store the menu values in the users Drive appdata folder so it works across devices. I will also make this closed setting the default. https://feedback.youneedawiki.com/438
