Currently when you sign up to YNAW, it asks for 3 permissions upon signup:
It would be better if we could break these out so users can enable them only as they need them.
Drive:
We could allow a user to chose a folder/just access the YNAW folder, and then increase to full access when a user wants to share privately as that’s what it’s required for.
Contacts:
Users might prefer not to have contacts search for example, let them opt-in if they do want it.
Docs:
Users might prefer to not have Google docs linking/referencing, let them opt-in if they do.
I think a friendly modal that shows and explains why the permission is, why it’s needed/what it does, and then shows the Google modal could be a good option.
Included in this ticket will be the ability to set your own API key, along with instructions on how to do so.
This will allow the app to function as expected and allow organizations to avoid having to give YNAW access permission to their drive/documents.
Included in this ticket is the ability to invite a private viewer without requiring them to log in.
Hi! Thanks,
I’m suggesting the access scope with Google to be limited..
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file
This should improve adoption.
